A Leader's Personal Journey to Redefining Success

I thought I was falling behind in my career. It turns out I was a step ahead in life. π
When I moved to the UK years ago, the challenges felt immense. I was adapting to life with my Scottish husband and his family, learning a new culture, and trying to master academic-level English. On top of it all, I constantly heard the question, "But what about your career?"
That question echoed as I tackled the GMC registration process (as an international medical graduate, I needed to obtain a license to practice through the GMC).I saw my peers advancing, and it was easy to feel like I was falling behind. But my perspective fundamentally shifted on the hospital wards. I saw patients in their final stages, some with no one, and others surrounded by love. It was a powerful realisation that, the greatest measure of success isn't a title, it's the strength of your relationships.
While my family has always been my priority, I did get my GMC registration. I also raised my children, started a business, and completed another degree. But my proudest achievement will always be my family and friends. Thatβs the foundation for everything else.π
